Beginning Dollmaking – Jan Hollins, Teacher

Time: 10 am to 4 pm

Place: Southwest Arts Center

Fee: $50.00

 

Learn the basics of creating a landscape art quilt with renowned fiber artist Jan Hollins.  Students will make their version of Jan's original pattern "‘Serenity Walk" Which measures 21 X 24 inches.  Students will learn how to use appliqué to create their landscape art quilt. Students will learn to create distance using curvaceous raw edge fabric strips and other materials to add texture with color groupings. By adding a couple walking in our landscape, students will create a feeling of movement. 

 

The Instructor will supply the pattern & photo.  Participants should bring the following supplies:  1.  3/4 muslin  2.  1 yd Heat N Bond Lite Fusible 3.  Pins, Scissor 4.  Black Sharpee 5.  Fabric strips for: Sky, river, trees grounds/grass, plants, mountains (flowers optional) 6.  Iron  7.  Ironing Stations

 

Continental breakfast and lunch is included in the class fee.
